This artist (James Vincent McMorrow) and particularly this album (Early in the Morning) are my current obsession. I stumbled across one of his songs during yoga, of all things, and I've pretty much been listening to this album nonstop since.
JVM is billed as a singer/songwriter, and this album is wonderfully engaging from start to finish. It's got what I think of as a bit of a Wild West/mountain song flavour to it, and the vocals (particularly the harmonies) are the essence of easy listening.
Top songs for me include If I Had A Boat, Sparrow and the Wolf, and We Don't Eat, but the real showstopper on this album has to be Down the Burning Ropes. Everything about it is perfection and I can't get enough of it.
If you're in the market for some new tunes, be sure to check it out. You can find most of the songs on this Youtube playlist.
